Moyes Evaluates Grealish's Future Amid Everton's European Ambitions

David Moyes has confirmed that no decision has been made regarding Jack Grealish's future at Everton as they approach the end of the season. Grealish, currently on a season-long loan from Manchester City, faced a setback due to a foot injury in mid-January, which has ended his campaign early. Despite this, his continued presence at the club suggests his interest in making a permanent move this summer. While Everton is unlikely to activate the £50 million option to buy Grealish, which would establish a club record transfer fee, Moyes expressed a desire to retain the player, likely through a second loan agreement. However, he emphasized that any arrangements will wait until the season concludes. Moyes stated, "We wouldn't be making any decision and even if I was I wouldn't be saying anything at the moment because Jack has had quite a serious operation in his foot, so we've got to give that time to heal." He praised Grealish's contributions during his time on the pitch, saying, "If you look at the contribution in the 15-20 games he played, he was great and he gave the crowd a lift." Looking ahead, Everton prepares to face Brentford on Saturday, aiming to secure a spot in European competition. Moyes acknowledged the excitement surrounding potential Champions League qualification, stating, "It's probably the best chance we've had for a long time," but also expressed caution about discussing it further. Overall, Moyes remains optimistic about returning Everton to European competitions, regardless of the level, as he notes the fans' desire to see the club regain its prominence.
