Investigation Launched into Brydon Carse Following Nightclub Incident
England cricketer Brydon Carse is currently under investigation after a nightclub incident in Derby where he was seen appearing to be handcuffed by police. The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) confirmed that they are looking into the matter following the events that occurred on Saturday night. Carse, a Durham fast bowler, is part of England’s squad set to face Pakistan in the upcoming second Test at Lord’s. Notably, former England Test captain Ben Stokes, his teammate at Durham, was spotted in the background of a video documenting the incident. Matthew Potts, another teammate, was also seen speaking with Carse amidst the presence of four police officers. The ECB released a statement saying, "We are aware of an incident which is reported to have taken place in Derby last night, and are currently investigating. We will provide a further update when possible." It has been reported that Carse was not arrested and was released without charge, although the reasons for his detention remain unclear. This incident comes amid a series of late-night controversies involving English cricketers, including: Harry Brook's scuffle with a nightclub bouncer in Wellington.
