Everton Eyes Second Loan Deal for Jack Grealish Amid Injury Setback

Everton aims to secure a second loan deal with Manchester City for Jack Grealish, hoping to bring the England international back to Hill Dickinson Stadium next season. Currently on loan from the Carabao Cup winners, Grealish’s contract includes an option for Everton to buy him for £50m, though they are unlikely to pursue this club-record fee. Despite being sidelined with a foot injury since January, Grealish made an impressive start to his loan, earning the Premier League Player of the Month award for August. He has contributed significantly with six assists and two goals this season, ranking among the top assist providers in the league. With a year remaining on his contract at City, which he signed in 2021 for a British record of £100m, Grealish has found himself surplus to requirements. Manager Pep Guardiola has brought in multiple wingers and attacking midfielders, indicating a diminishing role for Grealish, who has not featured since losing his place last season and being omitted from the squad for the Club World Cup. While City hopes to secure a transfer fee for Grealish, Everton's preference leans towards negotiating another loan arrangement, which may not be finalized until after the current season concludes.
