ITV Secures Exclusive Rights for 2027 Rugby World Cup Coverage in the UK

ITV has officially confirmed its status as the United Kingdom television home for the men’s Rugby World Cup by striking an exclusive deal for the 2027 edition. This partnership underscores ITV's long-standing relationship with World Rugby, despite facing competition from the BBC, which previously showcased the Women’s Rugby World Cup. Under the new agreement, ITV will broadcast all 52 matches from the expanded tournament set to take place in Australia. The broadcaster's commitment to rugby continues with: Coverage of every game from the Nations Championship in 2026 and 2028. Rights to a majority of men’s Six Nations games. Neil Sloane, ITV’s director of sport, expressed enthusiasm about the deal: "This is a monumental deal for audiences across the UK delivering coverage on ITV of the biggest rugby tournament." He emphasized the importance of the long-standing partnership that began in 1991 and noted that it will continue to thrive.
