Josep Madurell Claims Silver at World Championship in South Korea
Josep Madurell, representing Agrupació Congrés, has secured a silver medal in the +85 kg category at the World Championship held in Gangneung, South Korea. In the final match, he lost to the Chinese competitor Liang with a score of 1-3. Madurell showcased an impressive performance throughout the tournament, achieving the following: Quarter-finals: Defeated German player Schmidt with a score of 3-1. Semi-finals: Overcame Chinese athlete Wang decisively, winning 3-0. After the final, Madurell expressed his satisfaction with his performance, stating, "You can't win all the time; the Chinese was superior. I'm happy, I fought hard, and I'm very pleased to have reached the final." In addition to his silver medal, Madurell also earned a bronze medal in the +75 kg doubles category alongside his partner Toni Alemany.
