Baltimore Ravens Reveal Major Uniform Overhaul with New Helmets and 12 Combinations

The Baltimore Ravens introduced a complete uniform redesign on Thursday night, marking their first major change in nearly 30 years. Thousands of fans witnessed the unveiling, showcasing three distinct helmets and a vibrant new color scheme. The highlight of the redesign is the introduction of three helmets: The primary black helmet with a purple stripe, a staple since 1999. The new matte black helmet, dubbed the "Darkness Helmet," featuring striking black talon stripes and a front-facing logo displaying the Ravens’ red-eyed emblem. An updated purple helmet, known as "Purple Rising," which incorporates the primary logo, allowing for more uniform combinations. In addition to the helmets, the Ravens have adopted a new color called "Midnight Purple," designed to emulate the iridescence of a raven's feathers, appearing vibrant in light yet darker in low light. The team also introduced two purple jerseys: The main purple jersey with white numbers, serving as the primary uniform. An alternate purple jersey featuring gold numbers. Fans can expect to see a total of 12 different uniform combinations this season, although the team may not be able to wear all of them. The purple helmet can be paired with up to three combinations, while the matte black helmet is limited to use with the alternate black jersey and pants. Brad Downs, the Ravens' senior vice president of marketing, noted that the matte black design almost didn’t make it, as the team originally pursued another design before settling on this striking final look. This overhaul represents the Ravens' most significant uniform update since 1999, following minor updates in 2016 and 2024.
