Lottie Woad Aims for Momentum with Strong Performance at Meijer LPGA Classic

England’s Lottie Woad showcased impressive form at the Meijer LPGA Classic, moving within one shot of the halfway lead with a stellar second round. After starting with a 69, Woad delivered a bogey-free 66 at Blythefield Country Club, featuring six birdies that propelled her to nine under, just behind leader Jing Yan. Woad began her round on the back nine, quickly finding her rhythm with back-to-back birdies from the 14th hole. She expertly navigated the par-five 18th, turning in 33, and continued her strong play by birdieing the par-three fifth hole. She concluded her day with another birdie, leaving her tied for second place alongside Cassie Porter. Woad expressed her intent to build momentum ahead of the KPMG Women's PGA Championship, stating, "Been trying to get in contention a bit more... I feel like I am still working out kind of how I want to play before majors." Jing Yan matched Woad's impressive performance with her own bogey-free 66, leading at 10 under. Minji Kang followed closely, tied for fourth alongside Yan Liu, both sitting at eight under. Notably, world No 2 Jeeno Thitikul faced an unexpected exit after a second-round 70, while England's Mimi Rhodes also missed the cut with rounds of 73 and 72.
