With links to Atletico Madrid forward Julian Alvarez appearing financially unfeasible, the club has shifted its focus. On Friday, reports surfaced indicating that Barcelona had inquired about Alexander Sorloth, another forward from Atletico. If they cannot secure Alvarez, the club aims for a physically imposing number nine who can challenge central defenders and has a keen eye for goal. In addition to Sorloth, Barcelona is monitoring Vedat Muriqi from RCD Mallorca. The 31-year-old striker is enjoying a standout season, having netted 21 goals in La Liga, positioning him just behind Kylian Mbappe in the Pichichi standings. His height and aerial prowess make him an attractive candidate for the Catalan giants. Currently, Barcelona is scouting Muriqi and has made inquiries about his situation, although no direct contact with his agents has occurred. He is under contract until 2029 with a €40m release clause. However, the Blaugrana believe they might secure him for less, particularly if Mallorca faces relegation, as they sit just two points above the drop zone with seven matches remaining. Muriqi's clinical ability in front of goal has been notable, although his past seasons show some inconsistency. Despite this, he remains a significant threat to defenses in La Liga. Additionally, Barcelona has shown interest in his international strike partner, Fisnik Asllani. While Muriqi offers physicality and hold-up play, his agility may not align perfectly with Barcelona's fast-paced passing style, yet his box presence poses a considerable challenge for defenders.
