Josh Tarling Rides Vuelta a Espana in Memory of Late Brother Finlay
Josh Tarling, the elder brother of Finlay, who tragically passed away in a high-speed collision during the Volta a Portugal, is set to compete in the Vuelta a Espana starting on August 22. Finlay, just 19, died after a van strayed onto the road during the eighth stage of the Portugal race. At 22, Josh, a time trial specialist, rides for Netcompany Ineos alongside fellow Welshman and former Tour de France winner Geraint Thomas. The decision to participate was entirely Josh's, with his family expressing their unwavering support. In a heartfelt statement, Dawn and Michael Tarling, the boys' parents, shared their pride in Josh's choice: "He has chosen to do so in honour of his brother Fin, with the full support of his family." "Finlay was so incredibly proud of his big brother, and would be watching nose to the TV and shouting as he competed." "It is right that Josh honours that love and pride by doing what Fin always loved watching him do. #forFin." Thomas, the director of racing, emphasized the team's support for Josh, stating, "It goes without saying that, as a team, we all fully support Josh in his decision to take part in the race."
