Rams Coach Sean McVay Stands by Puka Nacua Amid Serious Allegations

A California woman has filed a temporary restraining order against Los Angeles Rams wide receiver Puka Nacua, alleging he bit her and made antisemitic remarks. In addition to the restraining order, she has also initiated a lawsuit against the 24-year-old, claiming gender violence, assault, and battery. Nacua's attorney, Levi McCathern, has firmly denied these allegations. In light of the situation, Rams coach Sean McVay expressed his support for Nacua during the annual league meeting, emphasizing his trust in the young player. "You guys know, I trust this kid's heart," McVay stated. He highlighted the importance of gathering all the facts before passing judgment, noting, "I will say, knowing this guy for three years, I do trust his heart. I trust the human being." As Nacua prepares for a significant contract extension this offseason, his current base salary stands at $5.77 million. The allegations have raised questions about how the Rams will approach contract discussions moving forward. McVay reinforced that each player carries a responsibility beyond just their performance on the field. "Puka would be the first to tell you, he and I have a close relationship. We communicate clear, open, and honest," he said, adding that Nacua understands the expectations that come with being part of the team. The Rams coach also acknowledged Nacua's strong support system, which includes family, coaches, and teammates, all committed to helping him grow. "I want to help him become the best human being he can possibly be, because I do believe better people make better Rams." Last season, Nacua achieved a league-high 129 receptions and 80 first downs, averaging 107.2 yards per game. Over his career, he has tallied 313 receptions for 4,191 yards and 19 touchdowns in 44 games.
