World Cup Star Rosie Galligan Returns to Harlequins After Saracens Stint

World Cup-winning England lock Rosie Galligan will leave Saracens to rejoin Harlequins at the end of the season. The 28-year-old is currently on maternity leave, expecting to give birth in October. Galligan's partner, fellow England forward Marlie Packer, has already confirmed her move from Saracens to Harlequins. Galligan initially played for Harlequins from 2021 to 2023, securing two titles during her first spell at Saracens. After her return to north London, she made over 50 appearances for Saracens. She will be watching her Saracens teammates as they compete in the Premiership Women's Rugby (PWR) play-off final against Trailfinders on 28 June, after which she will officially return to Harlequins. Galligan expressed her excitement, stating, "I'd always thought that I'd be back at some point, and it just feels right. I absolutely love what [head coach] Ross Chisholm is about. He brings great charisma and culture to the team and is a phenomenal coach." Chisholm praised Galligan's development, saying, "Since she last wore a Harlequins jersey, Rosie has taken her game to another level and become not just a World Cup winner but a truly world-class second row. We’re delighted to be a part of her journey as she prepares to become a mum for the first time. Off the field, she will drive standards, and on the field, she will give everything for the shirt. I'm really excited to see Rosie back wearing the quarters."
