Swansea City Set to Appoint Ben Stevens as New Sporting Director

Swansea City prepares to welcome Ben Stevens as their new sporting director, signaling a significant move in the club's management structure. Stevens, who has been the assistant sporting director at Crystal Palace since 2024, is poised to bring a wealth of experience to the role. Having spent a decade at Crystal Palace as the head of performance and recruitment analysis, Stevens has developed a strong reputation in the football community. His tenure included working closely with the former sporting director Dougie Freedman, and he stepped in to fill Freedman's role when Freedman left for Saudi Arabian club Al-Diriyah last year. Swansea City has been in search of a sporting director since the departure of director of football Richard Montague last September, who left the Championship club just seven months after his appointment. The club's former head of recruitment and analytics, Adam Worth, also exited in April this year. Though Stevens will hold a different title, expectations are that his responsibilities will closely mirror those previously handled by Montague, aiming to enhance the club's performance and recruitment strategies.
